Use of Essential Oils for Monsoon

Your best friends this monsoon season! With the humid weather coming in, the body is susceptible to a host of ailments. Let’s see how the use of these essential oils can keep you healthier in the monsoon.



Eucalyptus oil:

72% of this oil has eucalyptol, which helps remove congestion. It eases breathing and alleviates cough. It is recommended by many health practitioners for its anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

To use:
 4 -5 drops of this oil can be added to boiling hot water and the steam can be inhaled for 10 minutes to get immediate relief.
Add 2-3 Drops of oil to a handkerchief or tissue and keep breathing to reduce congestion
Diffuse 2-3 drops in a diffuser.

Tea Tree Oil

A trending and widely used essential oil that is are given prominence by a number of studies and research papers across the globe. This oil is useful for the treatment of sinusitis, bronchial congestion and coughs, which are common during the monsoons. A big plus is also it’ll help you to get rid of acne caused in the humid weather!

To use:
Add 4-5 drops to warm water and dip your feet to avoid bacterial infections and get clean feet.
Diffuse 2-3 drops in hot water or diffuser to get relief from congestion
Use 1 drop in cotton bud to apply on breakouts and reduce them overnight.
3-4 drops of tea tree oilcan be added to mopping bucket to get bacteria free floors safely and naturally.

Rosemary Oil

It is one of the versatile and potent essential oils for rainy days and can have amazing effects on hair, especially during the monsoons. During the monsoon, greasy hair and hair fall problems can be addressed with Rosemary Oil.

To use:
Add 5-6 drops to 30ml argan oil or other base oil and massage on scalp, leave for 30-40 minutes.
 Add 10 drops of it to 100 ml shampoo. Use it to regularly wash hair to clean the scalp and reduce hair-fall.
Diffuse 2-3 drops in diffuser for relaxation and mental clarity.
